Ge’ez Branding + Packaging Design
Ge’ez - an Ethiopian Chocolate brand. Project includes Logo/Branding design, and Packaging design
Ge'ez is an ancient Semitic language that originated in the Horn of Africa, specifically in what is now Ethiopia and Eritrea. It was the liturgical language of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and is still used in religious contexts today. Historically, Ge'ez was the language of the Aksumite Empire and played a key role in the region's culture, religion, and governance. While no longer spoken as a vernacular language, it remains an important part of Ethiopian heritage and is used in religious texts, rituals, and ecclesiastical writings.
GE'EZ is a gourmet chocolate packaging design inspired by Ethiopian patterns often found in traditional clothing. The packaging includes Dark Chocolate, Truffle, White Chocolate and Caramel. Each packaging differs in color and pattern based on the type of chocolate. It is all visually tied together with the rustic, earthy and ancient look, just like the language.
